Massive outcry at YPAP leader Jack Lin’s remarks on Singaporeans being “3rd class citizens”

Author: A massive outcry has erupted in cyberspace over YPAP leader Jack Lin Xinli’s callous remarks on Singaporeans being “3rd class citizens”.
Mr Lin made the comment on the PAP Facebook:

Currently majoring in Economics at the National University of Singapore, Mr Lin is also the Secretary of Joo Chiat Youth Executive Committee.
More than 80 comments were posted on the Temasek Review’s Facebook in response to Mr Lin in one day alone.
Anthony Goh wrote:
“He is rite partially. 3rd class pple in the govt bodies. Tat why mas selamat escaped, sg economy has to depend on other countries, flooding non stop, and without pap policies of taking care e local grad, how they gonna compete with others from china n India in real world. I can see my country Is slowly decaying. A person of substance will not speak in tis manner.”
Salihin added:
“So what his definition of first class citizenry? Sit passively while misinformation is fed to you by the Government and accept unfairness? If that is the case, most of the citizens of the world are worse off than us cos if something screws up in their part of the world, they will riot, loot and burn just to get their point across. Maybe Singaporeans should go to that stage just to prove this idiot’s point.”
Lee Mei Li did not mince her words:
“Jack Lin Xinli epitomise the narrow mindness, arrogance and elitism that the PAP has become. A pity. It is time we consign these people and their failed ideology to the dustbin of history!”
This is not the first time that a YPAP leader has publicly humiliated Singaporeans. In January this year, YPAP leader Eric How blamed the plight of poor Singaporeans on their “karma”. He later lodged a police report on the advice of YPAP Chairman Teo Ser Luck that he had been “impersonated” on Facebook.
Two months later, YPAP leader and new citizen from India Mr Sinha Shekhar called Singapore NSmen “DOGS”:

Mr Sinha Shekhar did not serve a SINGLE day of NS. He later promised to “clarify” the matter in the media, but has yet to do so.
A few netizens have written to YPAP Chairman Teo Ser Luck and his deputy Zaqy Mohamad on the arrogant behavior of YPAP leader Jack Lin Xinli.
They are unlikely to obtain a reply from them as in previous cases, they appeared to endorse and support the remarks of their subordinates.

In line with our MM Lee calling Singaporeans daft, useless, lazy, need spur on our hides and thus we deserved to be retrenched, worked with depressed salaries and replaced by the more hardworking foreigners and so the local citizens are increasingly sidelined by the PAP regime.
Even our national identity has been diluted with $10 million Integration Fund been set aside for the foreigners while our elderly and poor take to streets to peddle tissue papers or collecting aluminium cans from rubbish bins.

The only thing first class about this government is their pay. Otherwise, they are no class government, worst than the lowest class:
1) The floods: they gave us all sorts of excuses. In fact they fail to anticipate with the high level of construction the water runoff would have increased many folds and our canals are inadequate to handle the new flow.
2) SMRT: the security there is such a joke. We have a minister who is the DPM. Are we waiting to be killed before we make sure that our security is water tight.
3) Mas Selamat: This is an international joke. While innocent citizens were subject to all kinds of checks and inconvenience this limping terrorist swam across the Johor Straits braving the strong currents. The high security detention center in Whitley is a sieve.
4) The SMRT fares: They tried to disguise this as a cost saving for the citizens. In fact, it penalises the old and short distance travellers.
5) The GDP skyrocketed benefiting the ministers; the people remain poor.
6) House prices: What kind of minister do we have who does not know the simple principles of supply and demand? You give so many new PRs and yet you do not build a commensurate number of flats. This is pure stupidity. He is just now trying to do catch up by building new flats; after prices have skyrocketed!
7) The ERPs keep sprouting up and increasing. The Minister of Transport says the number of vehicles increased and traffic has slowed down. Again, if you keep issuing COEs and not build any roads, will not the traffic increase and jam worsen? What are we paying road taxes for? Another case of a minister who does not understand supply and demand.
8)To increase their revenue they decrease the number of COEs. This government is a market manipulator!
9) A third class government with first class citizens who know more than these multi-million ministers and they are breeding a bunch of parasitic YPAP members who bow down to them even if their performance is idiotic.

Such a statement shows that the MP didn’t have any problems with what JLIN said.
The logic is as follows. Suppose JLIN said “i think XXX race are stupid”.
Would the MP say “it is his personal view not the PAP’s views”. In such an example case, i am sure that the MP will spring into action, and in addition to distancing himself and his party from JLIN, would additionally censure and put a stop to such brainless JLIN remarks.
The fact that MP just say “it is his view” without further clarification, proves that the MP do not see any wrong in what JLIN said.
Keeping a distance away from, is the same as taking sides, Mr Chan Soo Sen. You can’t get away in this manner.

Yes, even though the statements were made in Jack Lin’s personal capacity, by virtue of his grassroots connection and his postings on PAP’s facebook, it’s hard for the public not to connect him with YEC, YPAP or PAP.
In any case, even as a grassroots member, do you think it’s appropriate for Jack Lin to behave this way? It’s like a teacher who went to a nightclub and drank with dance hostesses and when he was exposed, the Ministry of Education tells the public that the Ministry has no prior knowledge of the teacher’s action and that his action was of his own. Hence, he should not be associated with the Ministry of Education or his civil service teaching profession!
