Singapore doc slams PAP for lack of foresight in anticipating problems
A Singaporean doctor Dr Goh Phuay Yee has slammed the PAP regime for its failure to anticipate the multitude of problems Singapore will be facing with its pro-foreigner and ultra-liberal immigration policies.
In a short letter published in the Straits Times Forum yesterday, Dr Goh described the measures introduced lately by the PAP regime as no more than “knee-jerk reactions”.
“The measures to curb property price escalation, transport congestion and the influx of foreigners appear to be knee-jerk reactions rather than well-planned measures.”
[Source: Straits Times]
She also lashed out at the PAP regime for lack of foresight and planning:
“The Government is in the best position to plan ahead with information from statistics on population numbers, availability of accommodation, number of commuters the system can take, number of vacancies in schools, and such. It should be able to regulate the inflow of foreigners without causing a sudden crunch on our infrastructure, jobs and social stability. All these problems arose over the years because of a lack of foresight and swift response.”
Dr Goh had a letter published earlier on TR last week. (read letter here)
Despite the evidence showing otherwise, the PAP regime has refused to admit its numerous mistakes in not planning ahead for an expected increase in population fueled by mass immigration.
For example, though PM Lee announced his ambitious plan to increase Singapore’s population to 6.5 million people via immigration way back in 2003, the number of flats built between 2006 – 2008 is the lowest over the years.
Only 3,183 flats were built in 2008 by PAP National Development Minister Mah Bow Tan when Singapore accepted 20,000 new citizens and 90,000 PRs who were allowed to purchase resale flats in the open market by the PAP regime.

[Source: HDB Financial Report 2008/2009]
As there are insufficient new flats being built to meet the demands of both Singaporeans and the new citizens, many have to purchase flats in the resale market, thereby jacking up prices in the process.
Below is a graph illustrating how the rise in the prices of resale flats coincides with the rise in the number of foreigners in Singapore between the years 2000 and 2008, courtesy of Kojakbt, the moderator of 3in1kopitiam:

While Mr Mah has admitted he had been “caught off-guard” by the astronomical prices of HDB flats, he is adamant that they are affordable to Singaporeans and chided home-buyers for being “fussy” and having “unrealistic” expectations.
Till today, PAP leders continue to blame Singaporeans for the problems they have created while they pay themselves obscene salaries and pensions not heard before anywhere else in the world.
Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong chided Singaporeans publicly two days ago for “complaining too” much:
“It is important that we do not complain too much when we can’t get the house that we want, we can’t get the carpark that we want, when the MRT trains are a little crowded. We are in fact quite fortunate. These are problems created by our own success. There are many people who are not able to benefit from our overall success. Just remember them as we also try to solve our problems at the top end,” he was quoted as saying in Straits Times.
A former Prime Minister of Singapore, Goh earns about $3 million dollars a year, or more than 5 times the annual salary of U.S. President Barack Obama.

When Marie Antionette was told the people were revolting she said, ‘Give them Bread’
The Reply was given, ‘We have no Bread’
Then the Famous line was given, ‘Then let them eat cake’
Sounds a lot like our ministers, doesn’t it?

The tunnel vision of these mistakes disqualifies them even for the low rung jobs in large commercial firms. We are in for a lot of trouble with them running around not even knowing they are not wearing any pants. Their arrogance makes it worse as they pretend problems do not exist.
How long are we to tolerate such ineptitude?

It is time that Singaporeans learn to trust ourselves to pick an Alternative Team and not to succumb to scare mongering tactics from the Pro Alien Party.
The usual scare mongering tales spoken about the Alternative Party forming a government is that:
- property prices will drop, as if prices have not gone on a roller coaster ride with the Pro Alien Party at the controls;
- constituencies will turn into slums, as if the Pro Alien Party had not tried hard enough to turn these constituencies into slums, refusing to release tax payers money to tend to these constituencies who prefer candidates from the Alternative Political Parties;
- Singapore will be like ‘Humpty-Dumpty’ when broken can never be put back together again – the Pro Alien Party has been in control since the economic downturn of 1987 and 1997, the economic slowdown caused by 9/11 in 2001, SARS in 2003, Bird Flu in 2004, H1N1 in 2005, and the Worldwide Banking Failure in 2008, and Singapore still remained stuck in crisis till this day.
The Pro Alien Party has shown they are bankrupt of any solutions to bring us back to the prosperous days of the 1980s – prior to the retirement of the late Dr Goh Keng Swee.
We continue to struggle along in the 21st Century with worn out ideas borrowed from the 1960s being pursued with disastrous effects – as Singapore continue to rely on labor intensive – low wage cost production that require mass importing of cheap labor and dubious foreign talents.
Time for REAL CHANGE – to bring brighter, more vigorous and creative minds that motivate human spirits and hearts for the interests of Singapore and Singaporeans – young and old.

No matter how well she write, do you think the government will listen ??? The government has long been complacent and has grown to be “FAT”, becoming its own dinosaur and with their millions dollars of salary and having worst performance than its fore founding fathers… Worse of all: like to Wayang, tai-ji, non-apologetic, pretend, ignorant, deaf to all criticisms, assume its always right, simply out of touch with the people, singing self praises, proud and arrogrant, non-accountability, “gamblers” – huge lost of investments and act as if nothing had gone wrong…divert attention, put “blames” on others when things goes wrong… simply irritating and plus many more… Totally disgusted and disappointed !!!

No malice intended, but I am certain that Obama, as judged by his performance on US TV wud have responded differently. Accepting responsibility, where the bucks stop, is the true sign of great leadership. Not tai chi. Are our people up there REALLY worth their pay as they said and paid themselves?

They’re getting arrogant day by day thinking that they’ve the power to do as they please without slight regard to the well being of the common folk.Over years of gerry mandering and cunning scheming, the citizens are being shut off totally from accurate information on our state of affairs of our country. But don’t fret, the time has come for the total ecclipse of this totalitarian force as “our Mother Nature” will not neglect us in time of needs.

PAP is no longer the PAP 10 years ago. PAP has morphed into a group of elites, who put themselves way before the citizens in the recent years. Their salary has prove so.
I remember LKY once said: If you want money, dont come into politics. Right now, they use money to get “talents” in politics. Are these talents in for the money or for the people? I leave the answer to every indivduals to think.
Money may get talents.. but in long run, it will only cultivate greed and complacency. Its time for PAP to rethink what they want before things are too late. Good Luck to PAP in the next GE.

Dear Dr Goh Phuay Yee, can you please put aside your professional career temporary to join the alternative political parties to save our native Singaporeans. Our own people need your help. Please…please come out to help.
Nowadays, these MM, SM and PM are out of mind and got crazy. They are more like the destroyers rather than nation builders. This red dot is now turning upside down, and it is already on the way of destruction.

PAP and Singapore’s successes over the years has been attributed to LKY’s planning and foresightedness. LKY is still around as a MENTOR to the ministers. Has his advices been disregarded by the other ministers? Has he lost his sphere of influence within the cabinet? Or is he losing his marbles and his crystal ball has cracked?
So why do the government need a Minister Mentor post again?

Ah Loong the PM [Suppose to be only 1 prime minister per country but PAP is always special lei in a nutty way] already mentioned why PAP keep MM around as reported in United States a couple months back ago is MM LKY is the “mascot” of PAP…
No only that…MM [Should be Senior Senior Prime Minister] LKY whether “mascot” or not still have to come out as a baby sitter now and then to change the diapers…like for Yacoob during the “1 in 50 year” too many floods…or when MBT screw up cos he only forcast on profit profit at the expense of his fellow citizens…and many more…
Nowadays…we have baby sitter number two Senior Minister [Or is it Senior Prime Minister] GCT going around changing the diapers of their PAP “super pay scale = super talented” babies in diapers elite or technocrats or whatever BS PAP wanna coined or re-coined again…a piece of shit is a piece of shit…you can also say a piece of shit is a piece of fertlizer or whatever but it is still a shit…same for a man dressing up in drags walking around in public and please he is still a man whether he wear female clothing or undies or whatever…
Sick lah of these crazy nutty jokers supposely dressed in white in charge…i am still thinking are they still real human beings and do they still have a conscience somewhere in there or are they really animal like pigs clothed in human skin…nuts.

It is indeed frustrating to survive now as compared to the eighties.
there was not much foreigners than.
salary was adequate to survive we were paid a decent salary.
HDB houses were much cheaper.one can pay off the mortages wtithin say 10 to 15 years.rarely did 4 room cost above $100,000.
no congestion on the bus stops , void deck ,interchange or MRT.
jobs plentifull–no competition from foreigners.they were in Shipyards than.
Local Uncles/Aunties with little educationn worked as foreman in constuction companies ,drivers in SBS ,trailer drivers or cleaners.
they made adecent living with a decent pay.
Now foreigners have taken over all the SO Called “Menial Jobs” that locals “shun” such as diving SBS buses, cleaning eastates n offices , coffeeshop assistant, delivery drivers and assistants ,factory workers…so where do all those locals with low education go…
thousands are unemployed..selling tissues at hawker centres or
cleaning tables or toilets or doing adhoc work.
Look at the policies that have been implemented by a handfull of Elites who hold power…they impact us at every turn.
these foreigner friendly policies have reduced the average singaporeans earning power ,blunted his ability to purchase a HDB house at a reasonable price ,his employability ….enroached his personal space. the list is endless..
think about it.the goverment is not our parents…talking down to us all the time saying we are lazy, choosy etc etc.
Like what the Reform Party says … we ought to vote in a Govt.
that listens to the people, engages them and works for them and bring sensible well thought out policies.

How I wish that voting the PAP out would cost them to lose a few GRCs.
The truth is the election could be rigged by the PAP and there is nothing we can do about it.
I wish we have a 3rd party body to supervise the election.
