S-League Brawl – This incident makes me fear for our younger generation of Singaporeans
This incident reminds me that I am still a Singaporean mainly because I felt the pain when our own players are being assaulted.
Perhaps our players should have stepped back and stay away, but under those circumstances, it would have been difficult, when you are trying to defend your team’s honour, although i do agree, there are other ways of doing it.
This incident makes me fear for our younger generation of Singaporeans. It is true that the Chinese from China have a greater survivor instinct, constrasting with our youths who have lived in the comfort zone and are looking for opportunities that are different from our forefathers.
Dealing with what is on the football field, I am glad that it wasn’t the Singaporeans who started the fight, but it is sad to see that both our players are down with injuries. Is it the case of the China players being more agressive and our players being less of it? or that our players know better than to initiatie a brawl of such magnitude, and instead get thumb down instead?
I will be fair to the immigrants who are coming in to find a better life. I do hope that they are respectful to what is the existing culture in our homeland and not impose their own temperament and their hardcore beliefs of the “I” vs “you” mentality, meaning “I” am more important than “relationship” building. Maybe not the Chinese players, but those who have taken up PR/ship.
Chinese Singaporeans may share some history of our ancestors in China, but I will always be a Singaporean Chinese.
It is not that I am not proud of my Chinese ancestors, but I can’t see myself identifying with the aggressiveness that has built up within the urban Chinese from China. It scares me and it scares me to see the effect it will have on our Singaporean youths. Will they survive? the question is how do we prepare them?
For that, I will always feel myself a Singaporean.

@andrew leung, EVEN IF the SPF was playing against the GUOAN Team, they will STILL Apologise and no further action will be taken.
I dare venture further to add that even IF some garang Millister’s son or famiLEE members was in that team, the end result would still be the same.
Anyone not agree?

Singaporean are always the loser. Action by the FAS and SPF is slow. Why wait for the report when the VIDEO clips shows who is the agressor. From here, we can see how SIngaporean will lose out and being bullied by Foreign Talent (even in sport).
SIngaporean time to STAND UP.

You can sell your souls to Singapore Government. But save your children. Send them overseas to get a proper education and out of systematic degeneration. Get out of Singapore for your children sake.

FAS (and similarly the PAP) likes to kiss the ass of Big Brother China, that’s why despite the scandal of previous China teams in the S-League, it still gets these China teams to play in the S-League.
My advice: Develop more local footballing talents, don’t get foreign satellite teams (what happened to Sporting Afrique?) and last but not least, avoid China teams like the plague. China will never become a great footballing nation – the commies are too corrupt, and consequently due to a lack of youth development in China, their footballers are lousy(skills and attitude) and only goondu places like Singapore treat them like precious gold.

PRC are rude and aggressive. They bring their mentality here and expect locals to give in to them. What makes it worst is that they think they are more superior than local- thanks to this gov. They will not hestitate to curse and hurl abusives when you are simply trying to get them to co-operate and adhere to acceptable community behavior.
Once confronted a PRC who sub-let apartments to a group of 10 over workers, not to spit and keep the environment clean.. but She turned aggressive and start hurling abuse… these are the ppl we have for PRs.

We must understand what quality of people we bring in from china. This football ft are not the best grade in china. They came here for an obvious reason. The reward can give them a good life back great china one day. While they are here. their behaviour and social problems are here to stay. With their nos increasing fast, how can our small spf control and maintain order? Good luck to us.
