No updates on Lee Kuan Yew’s condition as netizens “rejoice”
There are no further updates on the condition of PAP strongman Lee Kuan Yew who was admitted to the Singapore General Hospital yesterday for a chest infection.
In a terse statement released yesterday, Lee’s press secretary said:
“Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew was planning to attend Dr Balaji’s (Senior Minister of State Balaji Sadasivan) wake this evening, but the doctors at SGH have just admitted him for treatment of a chest infection.”
The octagenarian suffered a fall on Monday, but still attended a Russia-Singapore Business Forum on Tuesday. He had just returned from an overseas trip to Moscow, Kiev and Paris last week.
Over at Singapore General Hospital, there was nothing unusual. Lee is likely to be warded at Ward 78. According to a SGH doctor who spoke on the ground of anonymity, there is a ward “reserved” solely for Lee and his immediate family members in the “A” class ward.
Though the mainstream media has always proclaimed Lee as the “founding father” of Singapore, not many Singaporeans do think of him this way as evident from the more than 200 comments posted on TR’s article by netizens so far, the majority of whom are actually praying for Lee to have a speedy “demise” instead of recovery.
mac wrote:
“Those who live their lives believing it better to be feared than to be loved should expect that beneath the veneer of fear lies depths of derision. It is never nice to wish death upon anyone, but those who have the blood of innocents on their hands have done much more than wish death upon others.”
Forecaster Extraordinarie II added:
“From the way I see it, Sinkaporeans is not wanting MM Lee to DIE literally, all they wanted was for MM Lee to GET THE FCUK OUT OF THEIR LIVES! However, since MM Lee is adament on retaining control of Sinkapore till his dying breath, the only way for that to happen is for MM Lee to meet his maker, the best alternative choice for Sinkaporeans. Thus the DYING part.”
PLP quipped in Chinese:
“该看的都看了!这只老狐仙已经差不多游完整个地球了,是时候到别的星球了!”
(Translation: This old fox has toured almost the entire earth, it is about time he goes to another planet!”)
Even those who thought he had done some good for the nation wished to see him “go” soon as dununderstand who wrote:
“Even if he does indeed move on, it will be good for him. Why are you all wishing for him to recover. I believe for his own good, he should really be taking a rest now, may he find peace in the afterlife. PS. I don’t hate him, I believe he has all done us good and deserves a good rest.”
(Read all the comments here)
Had Lee stepped down for good in 1990 together with the rest of the Old Guards, he would be loved, respected and venerated by young Singaporeans as the “founding father” of Singapore.
Unfortunately, he chose to cling on to power and overstay his welcome. In the meantime, Singaporeans continue to wait with bated breath from the latest news from SGH.

What will the headline be upon his passing? I remembered the headline in ST when Tun Abdul Razak (then Malaysian PM and father of current Malaysian PM) passed away was “”Razak is Dead”. Doesn’t sound like there was much respect as portrayed in the handing over of an old photograph of the two between the two now PM sons. Maybe the Malaysian newspapers will reciprocate with the headline “Lee is Dead”.

Nothing will save him. The last leaf is 87 years old and is crumbling under the hot sun, the falling rain and the strong gusty wind. Soon it will detach itself from the branch and wilt. A life gone and another awaits. Singapore will rejoice. All bad things will come to an end. There will be a new beginning, a new re-awakening, a new life for all Singaporeans. God is Great.

As much as I don’t agree with everything the man did, I seriously don’t think it does TR any service as the supposed unequivocal voice of the average SIngaporean to reprint some of the more unsavoury comments about him in this article, no more than SPH printing only the comments that might glorify the ruling party.
Pardon, but your opposition slip is truly showing this time. Not only that, but it does show the calibre of people it is made of.
Come on, TR. If you want credibility, be fair. Your credibility has to be earned.

Please do not think that MM LKY’s death will bring about an automatic and blanket solution. The PAP Government has got control of the state organs – the legislative, executive and the judiciary.
If LKY passes on, the PAP regime may just tighten the controls and Singaporeans will be no better off unless the people decide on affirmative actions. But this will be disasterous.
But hopefully better judgement prevails and the Government loosen up on many things and are prepared to share power with the opposition. It will also have to unwind the many unpopular legislations promulgated and adopt a transparent policy. The Government will also have to stop the ‘talking down’ and rid itself of the ‘we know best’ attitude.
Singaporeans must get rid of the vestiges of the Lee dynasty but must not seek revenge. Maybe we should have a truth commission and re-write the history of Singapore.

With the expectations of more dignitaries and their loved ones falling ill in the future, landing on their knees, landing up in hospital wards, and shutting down the area causing inconvenience to the public, I hope the government will build a private special hospital ward or area just for them and for the sake of their privacy and security.

Apache helicopter crash landed, brought down from high and hit the low.
No coincidence on earth.
No accident on earth too.
All things crashing down from high to hit the low stems from the Unseen. It is forced landing like all humans will be forced to go down on their knees to respect the Unseen if they refused to do so. It is no accident.
I hope humans and their leaders respect the Unseen to understand what is forced going down on the knees. Ponder this spiritually.

I am really really disappointed at what is being reflected here. Certainty I have never been a keen supporter of many PAP policies and in some ways MM Lee’s approach to political competition. But all of us in Singapore cannot deny him the credit for dedicating his life to Singapore and bringing us to where we are today. Of course there are weaknesses in our society, tell me one that doesn’t. But there is no doubt in my mind that we have progress much further than most in the short span of time we have.
While the “parenting model” of LKY is harsh, looking at the kind of ungrateful, irresponsible and uncouth comments here make me wonder if we are really ready to break free towards self governance. Be careful friends, of what you wish for. It’s is very easy to wish against what we do not like yet not knowing what we want. We can vote the party out, but do we have something better to offer ourselves?

This cruel and merciless man Lee Kuan Yew had imprisoned Chia Thye Poh for almost 30 years. Can a decent human being do this to his fellow human being??
The list of Singaporeans who suffered under this dictator’ ISA is a long one. Let me name a few of them… Shamsuddin Tung Tao Chang, a chinese muslim and editor of Nanyang Siang Pao), Hussein Jahidin(editor of Berita Harian), Dr. Poh Soo Kai, senior lawyer T.T Rajah, Former solicitor -general Francis Seow. Scores of others(professionals and decent people) have been arrested by this ruthless dictator.
When the LKY govt forced Dr.Poh Soo kai to make a communist confession and he refused because he was not one, his wife Grace Poh was also detained to induce him to make a confession. And Shamsuddin Tung, after spending years in prison under the ISA was released only to have his citizenship stripped and was banished to another country.
This wicked man deserve all the curses that he is receiving today for the atrocities he has committed. This man deserves no mercy from God. May God punish him.

Me,
I share the same sentiment. He dedicated his life to Singapore and we will never forget that. I guess in the 1960s people wanted basics like food, water and shelter. Now that we have all the basics covered we will move towards higher needs. I know, no country in the world is perfect. We, particularly are a very young country, unlike countries in Europe and North America. There is no doubt that we have achieved a lot in a short period of time . The main concern is that because of the number of the sheer number of FTs, many have lost their jobs and livelyhood. It is very frustrating and i guess that is why people express it in a very “vocal” manner. The PAPs recent policies have cause more problems than it has solved. Costs have escalated, wages have remained relatively stagnant. Hope we get out of this situation soon and get the real benefit of economic growth instead of just numbers.

Lee kuan yew wanted to play “god” with Singaporeans. In the 1970’s he strongly discouraged married Singaporean couples from having more than 2 children. His logic is that Singapore can’t afford a huge population. Thus the slogans STOP at TWO. One IS BETTER. In the early 1980’s he encouraged married woman to go for steralisation and rewarded them with monetary benefits if they do.. All these ill-thought polices led to a dramatic decline of the population. And today, what is the end result of all these manipulations?? He now has to import all these foreign trash to make up the population.

This is the first time I am posting on TR mainly because I think the replies on this topic of MM Lee’s condition are quickly getting out of hand and unbecoming.
Whilst we may not agree with his policies, political actions, etc, it should never have to come down to cursing someone to death.
I hope (though i think it is not likely) that TR can exercise some moderation in topics like to avoid it becoming a personal vendetta. In the long run, TR can be a greater force for positive change if it focuses on issues and solutions, rather than a venting and ranting outlet.

Just because PAPies worshippers like and worship MM LKY so the rest have to follow? What bloody rubbish is this?
Anyway, dunno related or not but: GENERAL ELECTION UPDATES
According to reliable sources, the General Election which was originally scheduled for late November 2010 have been postponed indefinitely.

This LKY, he curses the old folks, wanted them to work till they are dead and become cleaners, dishwashers, toilet cleaners and show no pity to their tired bones.
Do you think old folks do not get tired, or get a fall due to physical work while he works in comfort?
He denied them welfare aid and etc
Now he is sick, do the folks in Sg think he deserved pity? There are tens of thousands of old folks more pitiful than LKY. And he has lived long enough.
Absolutely deserve no pity for not improving the welfare of old folks while he can.

Many years ago, the somewhat “One Child Policy” like the one in China was incorporated into Singapore. At that time Singapore too small, not enough HDB to accomodate a large population. But as a forecaster, perhaps he should have noticed that Singapore being advantageous in areas of trade, Singapore would be able to progress to a first… no at least a second world country.
Today, Singaporeans not able to produce as many babies as they could in the past. Singaporeans getting more and more busy to push ourselves harder to make Singapore a better place. And now, some guy say Singaporeans not “horny” enough. Singapore having ageing population so no choice, have to increase influx of foreigners. Now, not enough flats to accomodate the huge influx of foreigners, prices go up, another guy say Singaporeans are “fussy / choosy” And so, the fault forever lies with the Singaporeans? We are just doing what the leaders said we should be doing. We heeded the advice and now we have to do otherwise? So fickle minded…
Anyway, even though LKY did come out some frustrating policies but nevertheless, i sincerely wish he would recover soon for his performance and tactics can be subjected to criticism but not him as a man. He did make Singapore a safer and better place to live in than the 1950s though, credits to that. And i hope Singaporeans will have better days ahead of them.

Well, to all those who think we are so bad to curse ah Lee Lee!
Ask yourself this question first, if a father pass his throne to his son, what it is called?Dictaor right?Or Emperor???
If he control every mouth piece… so that no one can say bad about him even if he really did something bad.Is this the right moral for a leader???Isit the right way to let his relatives, daughter inlaw, son wife.. then all his frens or whatever lar to err.. i dont want to get sue for nothing but i am sure you guys know what i mean.
It is common sense here.
He tried all means to oppress those who dont agree with him.But what if those who dont agree with him, is a talent and also really care for the citizens???Isis the correct way to rule a country if you only want all the’Mr yes man’ in your cabinet???
How much salary, bonus.. all this Mr Yes men earned all these years???How much work effort did they put in really???
Did they really root out all these problems we are facing now or they just sweep it under the carpet or just cut and paste to solve the problem instead of really want to solve it???
Paid so much but can’t even solve one simple problem like under population???Importing forigners as a solution, we dont need to pay so much a high salary for that kind of solution!!!
Alot more got to say but now it’s time for me to makan!!!

Excuse me in the 1950s…
The british government has already ensure supplies of portable water from its working [british taxpayers who paid for it and the british government who ensured water supply from malaya (those water treaties were done by the englanders too)] water-works, basic food necessities [from malaya] and homes [basic flats [also british tax payers who paid] and kampongs etc]…
What are you implying…the people of singapore “drinking” from the singapore river, everyone living as a “squatter” [even though the land is theirs but the Land ruling made by the PAP basically "steal" the lands on the cheap]….
I think you have not “read” your history holistically enough…and is too blinded by the material provided by the PAP….ironical enough the material you gain directly/indirectly comes from our forefathers/mothers blood, sweat and tears…and taxpayers monies too [blood money you know that pays for the scholarships, your "civil service" salaries and more]….
You mean the people of singapore are just so many digits and meat things to be “sacificed” and “expended” for the benefit of the “few” [who are basically just parasites and "living" of others real productivity & efforts]…
And don’t forget…all these medical expenses for LKY, LHL, [even that malaysian borned Khaw idiot of a health minister who "mentioned" singaporeans who can't afford can go to JB for their medical (not bad hun...he uses singaporeans tax payers monies to pay for his surgery and medical fees in SINGAPORE...who is a hypocrite and a "cheap skate" here)] or even LKY’s wife [who is in a coma...but hota scheme states "coma" victims after a certain time must be "painlessly" let go...tell them to how many singaporeans families / PRs who had to let go of their comatose loved ones...while those who leeched on taxpayers blood monies continue to "live"]…and so much more…
Only those who are blind, foolish, self serving and all the rest of the parasitical BS…will say otherwise.

Sorry…you got it wrong..when the british left singapore…some of them thought LKY and PAP is on their “side”…so behind the “scenes” gave LKY “permission” to rule on their stead from then on…
People forgot…that a person who can betray his principles, character and others can never be trusted…
Look here…LKY was a “translator” for the japanese occupation forces during WWII…some idiotic british chaps thought they can use this to “manage” LKY…but they got it wrong in the end…
And in the 1970s…how about old Deng who visited singapore and met LKY…and after leaving singapore things started to flip again…[Don't forget old Deng's quote "Use a 'rat' to catch a 'rat"]…LKY doesn’t understand that China “remembers” who LKY was…and frankly on their “friendly forgiving” veneer faces they are just using LKY and Singapore as part of their Sun Tzu “tactics” to get ahead of everyone in the end…
In the 1980s, same old trick..use proxies or others to “fight” each other…and stepping in as a “kingmaker” [Good old adolf hitler do the same thing too to his political opponents and potential challengers]…and that is why PAP on the outside looks united but in the inside there are “hidden” fractures…[and the reason why LHL MUST BUY his supporters...problem is how long will these "supporters" stay bought and actually how many "are waiting" to 'take over'...why should i be satisfied with a couple of millions a year when i can "take over" and get all like his daddy...LHL better be wary of those who "professed" 'loyalty' or play 'backstab' politices...these are the initial ones to look out for and "take out" of the equation...else...]
From the 1990s…we see another new “flip”…replacing singaporeans…notice how similar the same old “actions” happen again…this time “replacing” singaporeans..
So how…singapore and its peoples are precious and infinite…to “allow” those who expends/sacrifice others to benefit themselves or the few at the expense of the many still wrong…and everyone knows that…except for those who “lost” their “basic humanity”.
Nuts.

Sir, please open your eyes and ears. Dr. Koh Tai Ann recently said “We need a truly thinking society’. Please see: http://www3.ntu.edu.sg/CorpComms2/Documents/2010/Sep/ST_100916_A30_Koh%20Tai%20Ann.pdf
No. MM LKY is not only a hardliner and autocrat, he is worse. He is utterly ruthless in his quest for absolute control. He was very much aided by the prevailing circumstances then and a very compliant immigrant community whose spirit had been broken by the 1929 stock exchange crash, the Japanese invasion, the communist agitation, the triads and lastly the communal riots – all in a short span of tiem.
Sir, Singapore was never a laggard or a ‘walkover’ in your words. As a matter of fact, in the 50’s and 60’s Singapore was already a bustling trading hub. Singapore mirrored Hong Kong and had it not been for the fact that the British economy was broke after World War II, the Labour Government of Clement Atlee may not have abandon it. Singapore had full internal self-government from 1959 to 1963 when we joined Malaysia – before the PAP and LKY.
No Sir, I disagree with your statement that politics is never clean. Cleanliness is relative. Politicians can at least be fair and moral. Politics is after all about governing styles and public opinions. Is jailing and bankrupting your political opponents because of differences of opinion ‘clean’? And are protests and expression of differences not allowed?
Singaporeans are definitely not in dreamland and Singaporeans don’t whine. As a matter of fact Singaporeans are too docile and accommodating. And when they complain or gripe or whine, you can bet that they ‘tak boleh tahan’.

Over the years, LKY has imprisoned so many good people and even killed them. He gained ruthlessness during his days in WW2.
He is a founder? He is a shortsighted fellow. He encourage 1 child policy cos he cannot imagine Sg can support millions of population. He read and was mislead but never give credit. Other countries ministers don’t discourage population growth, believing in sciences.
He merged with M’sia becos he wants more power and he believe sg won’t survive even though at that time, Sg is richer than M’sia.
He called Hakka smart than most to lend the idea, that he, a nyona is smart, that the malays are lazy, Sg ppl likes to complaint, we are all ignorant etc
In Japan, he would have been forced to resign.
Who makes himself God over GIC and Temseak? So that he can control all the money?
Those that worship him so much, if you have friends, relatives that was arrested by him, landed seized by him and then resell to you for a flat at a small pittance compensation…see if you can still kiss his foot.

CONDOLENCE LETTER FROM PRIME MINISTER LEE HSIEN LOONG ON DEMISE OF JB JEYARETNAM
30 September 2008
Mr Kenneth Jeyaretnam
Mr Philip Jeyaretnam
Dear Kenneth and Philip Jeyaretnam
I was sad to learn that your father, Mr Joshua Benjamin Jeyaretnam, has passed away. Mr JB Jeyaretnam was a Member of Parliament for Anson constituency from 1981 till 1986, and a Non-Constituency Member of Parliament from 1997 till 2001. He used to engage in heated debates in the House. Perhaps it was because he and the PAP never saw eye to eye on any major political issue and he sought by all means to demolish the PAP and our system of government. Unfortunately, this helped neither to build up a constructive opposition nor our Parliamentary tradition. Nevertheless, one had to respect Mr JB Jeyaretnam’s dogged tenacity to be active in politics at his age.
However, our differences were not personal. In 1993, one of you (Kenneth) wrote to Mr Goh Chok Tong, who was then Prime Minister, to say that you found employers in Singapore reluctant to offer you a job, and your only explanation was that the employers felt the authorities would not welcome your employment because of your name. Mr Goh replied with a letter which could be shown to prospective employers, to say that the government did not hold anything against you, and that employers should evaluate you fairly on your own merits, like any other candidate, because Singapore needed every talented person that it could find. Mr Goh had previously made the same point to your brother Philip, whom he had invited to lunch. I am therefore happy that both of you have established yourselves in Singapore.
Please accept my deepest condolences.
Yours sincerely
Lee Hsien Loong

LKY sure knows how to take credit.

Although I agree that we should not curse anyone and that some of the comments here have gone overboard, I can’t help thinking that people in politics should be prepared to put their lives / reputation on the line. People in politics have even been known to be assassinated by their political enemies. Opposition members have been pushed into seeking asylum in other countries or made bankrupt. Our Ministers are adequately compensated with money and power. Under the circumstances, it is quite difficult to appreciate that they enter politics solely out of a selfless urge to serve their citizens. If they can’t take the heat, they should get out of the kitchen.

Myth 1: LKY brought sg from 3rd world to first.
Myth 2: We should be grateful to LKY and not curse him.
Myth 3: His ruling methods were ‘tough’ but that’s no reason to curse him.
Truth 1: Sg has always been a thriving city, modern singapore is not LKY or the PAP’s doing alone.
Truth 2: There is no such thing as ‘gratitude’ for a government. Their job is to serve us, they should be grateful to us, and leave when we want them to leave.
Truth 3: LKY has ruined many lives with his policies and even direct abuses to human rights. It’s not too far for many sporeans to curse him for this.

Why u all curse him? He bring Singapore so high, if not for him we will be living in a dump. over the last 70 years our GDP per capita rise fromm less than $1000, to almost $40,000 compared to indonesia or philipines who earn less than we do and have not increase so much. You all argue that he can get special A ward? Of course he is a founding father, famous people need privacy. He’s not working for the money already so old.. He working to improve Singapore’s image in the world. All you all complain he steal your all money? Maybe cause you all too stupid to realise what he has done for us, and stupid people don’t usually earn much. Only the ignorant curse him, cause they’re too stupid or poor to reap the benefits he’s brought to the nation. You reap what you sow, although some policies are questionable and can be criticised, they will no change even if he goes, there is still the rest of the party. He does not deserve these personal attacks, stop being so ungrateful

LKY should have retired from public office in 1990 and should have worked in background as Advisor. But looks like he doesn’t know when to call it a day. He cuts sorry figure these days. I am sure he doesnt know that and it seems no one in PAP leadership has guts / balls to tell him. But I thought ex-Ministers like Richard Hu, Tony Ton or Dhanabalan should be able to tell him.
One must leave when being asked “Why” rather than “Why Not”.

No we don’t need M’sia brand of politics. While we are not perfect here, I shudder to think when Singapore’s brand of politics will emulate M’sia. Your system of bumi rights has plundered your land beyond recognition.
While LKY’s policies of late has made life difficult for Singaporeans, I can’t deny that he has done some good for the country, as did Sir Stamford Raffles, JB Jeyaratnam, Devan Nair and others. But it is definitely time for him to step down and for the Lee family to start treating Singapore like a real country rather than their own company.

Sorry…
I don’t stoop to the level of LKY and his “buddies” who believes others should always be doing the “dying” and “sacrificing” for “them”…and on the many “occasions” ’state’ and quote how they see other real people…
Look no further at LHL in the public who states he has to “fixed” people with alternative views and “buy” ’supporters’ to his side…
So how low can one go…
All have eyes to see…but whether that “gray” matter in their heads are really “working” and thinking “independently” enough with all the factual facts on-hand or seen is “another” thing all together…
I don’t wish the old man to die this way…or “wish” him to die…that is going to “his” and his “buddies” level.
I wish all the best…and hope he retires to a quiet life and spend more time with his comatose wife. By continuing to stay in “power”…it just shows the character and how low a human being can go…to benefit the few at the expense nay real sacrifices of the many past, present and future…
Flies lah all flies. All thanks to Lim Swee Suay the deaf and self serving frog as based on his frog analogy fairy tale in parliament for making me wake up more completely.

Yeah right on…it is ok for LKY to put down people and “fixed people and by “making” people to be “what” he wants them to be rather then be all that they can be…
Think and ask yourself.
Are you ruling yourself to be all that you can be or you rather prefer to always be “ruled” or “fixed” to be what some nobodies [living on welfare...using other peoples blood money] wants you to be…
Nuts.

Wonder are our top hunchos already doing scenario planning for day he dies.
Will Goh be pushed up to MM? Current SM2 become SM1, and WKS become SM (Selamat Minister)? Or will they all just take their retirement package and call it a day?
How are the people’s heroes in WP, SDA, SDA, RP etc going to exploit the situation?
It’s painful to see an old man suffering. Hope it doesn’t last too long and he reunites with his wife soon.

LKY talked of isolation as being his worse fear…yet has he ever thought of the many innocent people he put into isolation in detention?
A wise man will contemplates, regrets and try to reform himself. Yet he is greedily holding onto his worldly possessions hoping to bring along.
Sad.

Let’s get down on our knees and offer our prayers,
Most glorious Prince of the Heavenly Armies, Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in our battle against principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places.
Come to the assistance of men whom God has created to their image and likeness and whom Jesus has redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil. Holy Church venerates thee as her guardian and protector; to thee, the Lord has entrusted the souls of the redeemed to be led into heaven.
Pray therefore that the God of Peace allows men of faith to expel Satan, that he may no longer retain men captive and do injury to the Church. Offer our prayers to the Most High, that without delay they may draw His mercy down upon us; take hold of the dragon, the old serpent, which is the devil and Satan, bind him and cast him into the bottomless pit so that he may no longer seduce the nations.
Amen.

Go down on the knees to pray.
Do humans and their leaders know that all prayers by man are directed at the Unseen?
When will humans wake up and respect the Unseen?
Who knows how to pray towards the Unseen and hit the intended target with their prayers? Ponder.

May he die soon to so that he can earn a better life in the heareafter. If he’s really a good person, he need not fear death. He will get his reward. Then again, maybe he’s not actually a good person that’s why he fears death…because he’ll be getting his reward soon.

I had learnt from the mainstream media of his widely publicized ‘confessions’ of being a victim during WWII when the Japanese almost got him up the lorry.
But lately, I’ve been reading from forum postings that he was in fact collaborating with the Japanese invaders! If that was true, then the possibly dark truth might not be just working as a translator but turning in loyal Singaporean compatriots to the Japanese secret police as well.
If all this were really true, all these years of admiration for him in my school-life would really have been misplaced because it would have been rather silly of me to mistake a traitor for a hero!
I hope MM Lee will come out while he is still alive to clarify all these extremely damning rumors all over the Internet about his WW2 past. If he was innocent, MM Lee should robustly challenge these false accusations – I want to still remember him as a hero forever.

Frankly, I am not at all surprised. Whatever he is getting now he brought it all upon himself. For more than 50 years he has done everything rotten, dirty, indecent, inhuman, cruel, greedy, vengeful and nasty to all his political foes without so much as a tinge of conscience. I am quite astounded that he could live with himself all this while with those evil deeds hanging on his head. Most of us with a tiny fraction of what he has would have ended up in the funny farm.
If he has any brains at all, and since he is rich beyond our imagination to not need to work for his keep for many generations, he should spend the rest of the time available to him in reflection and doing what he needs to do to make up for all his immoral and inhuman deeds both as a man and as a politician.
This way at least when his time comes less people will be cursing him and more will be sympathetic for “what does it profit a man who gains the whole world but loses his own soul?”

Singapore will go on with or without him. He just carried on the policies of the British past. He did not build anything. Singapore is bigger than LKY and PAP. LKY is self-serving. We are all human beings and we do not depend on one man or party. Life still goes on.
The polical system is based on the British system of the past and all LKY did was tweak it for his personal benefit.

Those who said that cursing LKY ia wrong should look at the mirror. LKY and his PAP have been cursing all the time. You have to work until you die. You all cam die in Johor. If you cannot afford it’s better to die at home. Floods? Live with it ! Lesser mortal. Lazy. Abortion andandatory death sentence. LKY is a murderer. Aa LKY have said je has absolute power so abortion and mandatory death ia decided by him and rubber stamped in parliament. Murderer.
Those who detest all the cursing and votes for LKY is either a crony, minion etc are hypocrites. for those who did not benefit but still support the system is a utter fool. LKY have cursed all Songaporeans to die thru his policies. Ita self explanatory, go strutinized all policies thru years.
And yes LKY also said Singaporeans are fools

Malaysia’s Civic Course for Muslims
I hope those Dayak (natives of East Malaysia) who attended this BTN course can share their experience and learning. If such are the teachings of BTN that Chinese are Jews and Christians are associated with Head and Sholder Shampoo for its doctorine of “Holy Trinity” then DPM have a lot to explained to Malaysian instead of choosing to deny BTN racialist and extremist Ketuanan Melayu agenda.
Why are we spending so much money for such sick ideas of unity through hatred. Malaysian need the money to overcome hardcore poverty and therefore do not need such extreme negativity and may provoke the peace and stability of the country. I hope BN UMNO led supporters realize the “evil scheme”of certain UMNO Malay leaders.
For Dayak we have to stand up and be counted and stop being cowed into the corner and whine about our problem. Do something positive with one selfand also to walk beyond one self to provide service to the community and make our community better.
Kalau bukan kiat – siapa?
Kalau bukan sekarang – bila?
If BTN is just the tip of an ice-berg of UMNO racialist Ketuanan Melayu agenda, I fear for the future of Malaysia under BN led BN.
I am one of the privileged few to have attended a local public university and learned the meaning of hate, thanks to the ever popular Biro Tata Negara.
All undergraduates were forced to attend this programme or else they would not be eligible for graduation.
Intellectual Speakers?
The BTN under the Prime Minister’s Department brought in “intellectual” speakers who were supposed to enlighten the students about the meaning of being a Malaysian but instead it felt more like a communist propaganda camp brainwashing those attending about the importance of “Ketuanan Melayu”.
A Whole Day Program
The camp would usually take place during the weekends. Students would have to register early in the morning and the programme would last the whole day.
The organisers were always on their guard, asking participants to show their student identification cards each time they entered the hall, fearing the presence of outsiders.
In the hall, students were asked to turn off their mobile phones.
Do not raise any question
During the lectures, questions were planted among the audience and the students were advised not ask raise any questions.
One speaker began with the history of Malaysia and how much the country had gone through, always emphasising the May 13 riots.
Malay must be united against outside threat – eg the Malaysian Chinese
He stressed the point of how much the Malays had sacrificed and how the community should be united especially from outside threat — the Chinese community.
BTN says – Chinese are Jews of Asia
He said that the Chinese community were “the Jews of Asia” and were just itching to take over when Malays were disunited and broken.
The speaker also revealed a greater Chinese conspiracy where the Chinese Malaysians were working together with Singapore to topple the Malay government.
“Do you want to become like the Malays in Singapore?” he asked.
Muslim are Malay
He also went so far as to criticise Malay girls for dating boys from other races.
He added that they should not be cheap and embarrass their families.
Once, a student told the speaker that as Muslims, we should also respect other races who are also Muslims.
“All Muslims are Malays so it does not matter if they are Chinese or Indians. If they are Muslims then they are Malays,” the speaker replied.
Selangor PKR Government is doing the right thing
This is why I was relieved when I learned that the Selangor government had moved to ban its civil servants, employees of state subsidiaries and students at state-owned education institutions from attending any BTN courses with immediate effect.
However I believe racism in varsities does not end at BTN because classrooms have also become victims of ignorant scholars.
My friend was verbally abused during his sociology class when he did not agree with the points made by his lecturer.
“You must be DKK,” the lecturer told him.
Darah Keturunan Keling (DKK)
“What is DKK?” he asked.
“You must be darah keturunan keling (descendents of Indians),” the lecturer said, pointing to his dark skin.
My Saudi friend was also shocked by the comments made by his lecturer in his Islamic civilisation class.
Orang Alsi are Palestinians and Chinese is Isreal
“We should save our Orang Asli from the Chinese people. They are like the Palestinians and the Chinese are Israel. We must fight the Jews,” the lecturer told his students.
Failed for quoting Western Scholar
The lecturer even failed one of his students in his oral exam when he quoted a Western scholar in his presentation.
“You should be ashamed of yourselves. You are a Muslim and should only use Islamic scholars,” he scolded the student.
Christians are like Head and Shoulder’s 3 in 1 shampoo – for Holy Trinity
I was personally saddened when my Islamic law lecturer compared Christianity to Head & Shoulder’s 3 in 1 shampoo in referring to the religion’s Holy Trinity.
Conclusion
I feel that racism has been institutionalised in our country and that BTN is only the tip of the iceberg.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin defended BTN yesterday and claimed that it was not racist but is line with the 1 Malaysia concept.
I have to humbly disagree and would like to suggest maybe the ministers should bring their overseas children home and let them have a taste of what BTN is.

Well…death comes to all men…. all are sinners… no need to be holy about it…
LKY did much good for Singapore despite what his critics may insist.
In fact, his critics prove that he did much benefit for them, for by venting their rage as they have done on this forum, they SHOW that they are actually ALIVE to CRITICISE on cyberspace !!!!!!
Btw check out North Korea…. nobody says anything bad about the DEAR leader …. and cyberspace ….what cyberspace… they don’t even have anything to eat…. a lot more folks in third world countries cannot even buy the computer to comment on…. so you hear nothing ….except what the Western presses chooses to publish if the comments happen to be made in English.
And oh yah …..DAMN OBAMA….DAMN the European Union….DAMN those leaders in charge of this planet…. it’s horribly polluted…. we’re gonna drown when the sea waters rise !!! WMD in Iraq indeed !!! Rich heartless monsters in wall street !!!!

For those who curse LKY:
After scrolling through all the comments posted, a great sense of disappointment, pain & disbelief suddenly creeped up my spine. Why LKY is so much being hated by you people here? Have you all gotten the correct info before passing such cruel comments or all of you have been poisoned? No wonder our government is worry for the young generation.
Even if in the past, some of his policies were harsh and tough, which it has to be to manage the whole country, but do remember that his team and himself had sacrificed many golden years of their life building Singapore up to a modern city from poverty / muddy ground. Have all of you ever wonder what Singapore will become today if still under Malaysia’s ruling? Probably just 1 of small states in Malaysia.
Before penning down cruel & sarcastic remarks on LKY, do some soul searching & reflection on yourself. Where’s your heart? Being kept in your storeroom? Or there isn’t a heart to begin with. How would you feel if someone curses your father / grandfather like the way you curse LKY?
If you are feeling totally unsatisfied / pissed off with how Singapore is being managed in all ways and hated to see LKY ‘messing’ around so much, you can always have a choice to get out of here, move somewhere you deemed to be better. If you still stay here and complaining so much, there goes to show that you have no guts / any ability to do so and no where to go.
For those who curses, will be cursed in return. This is totally fair and square.
