PRC netizens used Lee Kuan Yew’s words to attack Singaporeans

Author: In most countries, political leaders are expected to protect their own people and fight for their interests, but not so in Singapore where Singaporeans are often humiliated publicly by PAP leaders.
PRC “talent” Wang Peng Fei peeved off the entire nation by uploading a video clip hurling insults at Singaporeans. To add salt to the injury, PRC netizens are using the words of PAP supreme leader Lee Kuan Yew to hit back at Singaporean Chinese.
In a comment posted on Wang’s blog, a PRC citizen recalled the words of Lee in his memoirs:
“李光耀語錄都記錄說,”怎麼說我們都不過只是福建、廣東等地目不識丁、沒有田地的農民的後裔，他們有的卻儘是留守中原的達官顯要、文人學士的後代。”就連國家領袖這可以放棄自負,接受現實.新加坡人中那些華文水準差,幾話就只會罵娘撲街的華人缺不敢承認現實.這種自卑的心理,簡直是世界華人的笑柄.”
In his memoirs, Lee had revealed that he once told China’s paramount leader Deng Xiaoping that the ethnic Chinese in Singapore were descendants of illiterate coolies and farmers from southern Fujian.
“This had made them less able than the people of Hong Kong or Taiwan, whose ancestors were mainly businessman or technocrats.Singaporeans could function well only as a group, not as individuals. They would never be non-conformist or stand out above the crowd,” he added.
In an interview with National Geographic magazine in December 2009, Lee said it’s a good thing that Singapore is welcoming so many Chinese immigrants from mainland China as they are harder-driving and harder-striving than Singaporeans.
Lee Kuan Yew doesn’t seem to realize that most of the newcomers are peasants hailing from the poor inland provinces of China instead of the affluent coastal cities.

Back in the Changsha situation, number of lifts rolls tenfold where number technical personnel couldn’t match up. Many lifts still run without passing periodic and mandatory maintenance. 那些新加坡华人之所以如此小题大作，是因为发视频那个学生，说的东西，都是事实，全部说道到他们心里去了。

LKY is obviously enviour to some of the more illustrous parentage of some Singaporean families compared to his own, which explains for his disdain towards Singaporeans – especially towards his own family tree.
Is there any reason for LKY to substantiate that his genes are more superior than other Singaporeans – to explain for his arrogant claims of super genetic talents, when his father is no more then a clerk working at SHELL Petroleum before he retired to become a counter sales-person at B.P.de Silva, and his mother is just an ordinary housewife ?
What kind of genetic origin can LKY claim for his lineage when he is afraid of the more luminous families of Tan Tock Seng descendants, that of Lee Kong Chian, the Wee’s, Wong’s, Lim’s, and even the Chee Family from which Dr Chee Soon Juan descended from ?
It is due to LKY’s fear of private wealth that drove him to kill so many private enterprises – which include the privately owned Bus and Taxi Companies which served Singapore for more then five decades before LKY was even born, the Singapore Turf Club which ran all the races, the lottery, and the public sweepstake, as well as other money spinning enterprises in the hands of the few wealthy families.
After more then four decades of deliberate takeovers, the PAP Government has now begun to lament to the dearth of the entreprenuerisal spirit in Singapore.
LKY went about the whole world to complain of Singapore’s lack of business talent, when he and his PAP were the main cause for the death of enterprise amongst Singaporeans.
For over forty years, LKY and his PAP deliberately schemed to lock away a large portion of private wealth through high CPF contributions, multiple layers of direct and indirect taxes, the state acquisition of private land with mere pittance for compensation, the control and dispensing of all business licenses, the accounts reporting system of businesses which allowed the government to focus on the more profitable sectors to compete with private capital.
Through the monopolies of the Government Lined Companies, the PAP has made all Singaporeans to be dependent on the Government for housing, transport, education, employment and even food.
After killing the means of Singaporeans to do businesses by sucking a large portion of private wealth into the Government Treasuries, and enslaving Singaporeans to the PAP Communistic monopolistic economic models, LKY has the audacity to claim the Singaporeans lack the entrepreneurial spirit and skills of Hongkongers and Taiwanese.
LKY is totally shameless besides being immoral for running down the reputation of Singaporeans, when he is the primary cause for the pathetic status quo in Singapore.

I remember an incident when a close family member of a friend died suddenly. That friend is an Indian Singaporean who speaks excellent Hokkien and Teochew and even Cantonese with a sprinkling of Hainanese words. What is heart rendering to see is his close Chinese friends overcomed with emotions on hearing his untimely death to see them rubbing their face on the road with blood stains oozing from their face until they had to be stopped with force by few well meaning friends. This is what our Singaporean culture is about those days – a close nit Singaporean commuinity with Chinese, Malay and Indian with a sprinkling of Eurasians who were the driving force of our economy.
The Southern Chinese including Hokkien Hway Kuan and the Ngee Ann Kongsi and forward looking members of the Singapore Chinese who amongst the esarly Chinese pioneers have made millions and from the likes of such Southern Chinese in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Phillipines, Vietnam will take such statements as offensive to the core and downright insulting while on the flip side taking great pride that from that start they have build an empire and one of the richest and most prominnent business groups in Asia – the vital, pivotal and potent Overseas Chinese that are the pride of Singapore and the Nation. Touching that core is indeed insulting nevertheless.
LKY must understand that many Chinese who knows my late father well would have gone back to China and build successful businesses as many have done from Popiah King to many more. They will have done much better if PRC was not then a close Communist Country. Yet for their family members who are still caught in China I did hear that bicycles, sewing machines and many more were sent back to those of their siblings caught in the Communist Regime. That was a gift for Singapore because these early Southern Chinese built Singapore to where it is.
The same goes for the early tamils and if great leaders of our tamil community from Narayana Pillay who came with Sir Stamford Raffles and who was pivital in the built up of what is The Mariamman Temple in South Bridge Road were made up predominantly of collies brought in by the British. From amongst them we have seen famous doctors, lawyers, ministers and many more professionals and their grandchildren and great garnchildren making even more headways. If the education systme was tweaked and even well managed with even more scholarships given to such locals be they Malays, Chinese or Indians we will have seen much much more real progress intellectually.
So amongst us local Chinese peng yews, Malays abangs and Indian ah nehs we have many who have blended well and come a long way. We take great pride in our heritage and will do so till our eventual calling on Earth and our children and their children will soldier on.
We take the statement of LKY as offensive to the core and not in any way reflective of an elder statemen and one who was until recently touted to be. Question of reciprocating
If Lee Kaun Yew wants Singaporeans to cherish, honour and respect him, he should reciprocate.
Of late he has been scolding, insulting and wishing ill on Singaporeans and this will not endear him to us.

Let’s acknowledge & accept the very fact that most of us Singaporean Chinese are decendants of illiterate coolies & farmers not only from southern Fujian Province, but,from Guangdong & Hainan as well.
What’s wrong with that? Should we be ashame of being decendants from these provinces & to be born into the lower stratas of Singapore’s society ? Not at all ! That is our fate !
Through the early years, our illiterate coolie & farmer parents lived in squalid conditions within the lower stratas of the Singapore society. But, as a result of their inherent perseverence, resilience, prudence,& hard work, they’ve made good when given the opportunities. Many of them were able to climb up a few stratas in the Singapore society, since. Shouldn’t we be proud of them ?
Within two generations, by our own hard work, no one can deny that our overall living standard in Singapore has risen tremendously as compared to the times when our illiterate coolie & farmer parents were living in. But since 2010, so has the cost. This is where almost all Singaporeans feel the strain !
To “spur” us on, the old man LKY used reverse psychology in his memoirs, local speeches & in an open forum in China last week.
His jabs at us had not been palatable at all. But, we must also admit that our stomachs today are much fuller than the stomachs of yesteryears of our illiterate coolie & farmer parents. We all agree ?
As our household income grew, we became more affordable & our capacity to consume grew as well. We cannot deny that we’ve put on weight & gained some fat ! Unless the fat is burnt off via physical exertions or exercises or sex, lemak(fat) makes us lembek(soft)!
We’ll feel more lethargic & we’ll tend to slaken as we allow the accumulated fat to multiply. That’s a normal natural progression.
With improved income levels, Singaporeans have much better lives & have become less hungry. Even our Singapore Gahmen lives in the same manner! They’ve become so affordable that they can throw away S$280 million in the YOG budget over run without asking for accountability by the Minister of MCYS & his team members. Aiya, small change la !

Coming back to the PRC migrants in Singapore, may I ask all Singaporeans for your understanding & compassion towards All economic migrants working & living here. They’ve hard lives too.
Put ourselves in their shoes; most of them had to borrow much money to pay their agents up front to get them a job over here. They do it to get better wages towards a better living for themselves or for their folks back home. Had they been given better opportunities back home, would they have come here to be despiced & be discriminated ? Remember our illiterate coolie & farmer parents also traveled the same passage in the hulls of fishing boats from southern China to land & work here. So, please cut these new PRC migrants some slack & let them fulfil their dreams for a better life like our parents had.

Our local history recorded 2 waves of migration from China to Singapore and Malaya. The early waves (1400s to 1800s) were mainly the traders and merchants and they were mainly the ethnic Hokkiens and Teochews. They settled in the towns and cities and we find them in Indonesia and Philippines as well.
The original Hokkiens and Teochew were the forerunners of the Peranakans (Nyona and Baba) and they were no illiterate coolies. They were the educated gentry that provided the professional skills – doctors, lawyers, teachers, accountants and engineers that the British Administration relied on in their colonization of Singapore and Malaya.
The second wave of migration was in the 1800s after tin was discovered in the Larut hills of Malaya. The second wave also coincided with the impending fall of the Manchu Government in China when China was in turmoil. Many indentured Cantonese from Kwangtung arrived in Malaya to work on the tin mines and it explains the mainly Cantonese population in KL and Ipoh.
The Cantonese also migrated to USA and Australia at around this time as well to work on the railroads in USA and gold mines in Australia. These migrants might have been coolies.
Therefore it is wrong to say that modern Singapore were peopled by illiterate coolies from Fujian.

The root of the problem is still Lee Kuen Yew which continuously tries to get rid of the inferior gene migrants from the British Colonial Empire era. They’re mainly the local Chinese of the coolie outcast and the local Indian of the untouchable caste. Then, from the mid 80s he created the Social development Unit to further divide the pariah population from tainting the educated population through marriages. The current form of genocide is to shorten the life expectancy of this baby boomer through high medical fee, high nursing home fee, extended retirement age and extended CPF withdrawer age. Race ratio population ‘let’s say ‘is
Indian(10%)=2, Malay(20%)=4, Chinese(70%)=14.
The Malays’ birth rate is generally the highest among the 3 races ( many marry 2 times ). And let’s say if average Malay’s couple give birth to 3 children ( very very commom).
And ratio supposed to be
Indian=5 persons ( 2 and a half time increased )
Malay=2(parents)+3 children= 5 (2 and a half time increased ).
Chinese=7(pareants + 11 children= 18 (actually can’t be achieved).
But the problem is every couple average has less than 2 children resulting in above 18 persons of Chinese CANNOT be achieved.
So if not accept immigrants from the PRC, how to maintain above ideal race ratio?
