The digging of MRT tunnels, some said have damaged the FengShui of Singapore. You remember the old FengShui of the distribution of our gold $1 coins? Planting of trees all around the island? What about the Suntec city fountain of wealth? Maybe you say I am superstitious, but the old man was a devout FengShui enthusiast. The old monk passed away long ago, so no one was able to consult thereafter. If everyone would say FengShui is fake, then why did our govt get a FengShui expert to time the relocation of the Merlion? Why did KBW get all the religious parties to conduct ritual for Bedok Reservoir’s massive suicides and the blessing of MRT?
After blistering growth and prosperity for 40 years, the sign of decline is gradually appearing. During the old man’s era, although he was a hardliner, he had integrity. That team of comrades he worked together with was able to work to the best interest of Singaporeans, although they had their differences. We probably could understand those comrades were his peers, their standings were almost the same but they could debate without fear. When handling to the son, he removed all the comrades, in came all the yes-men from army and foreign bornt politicians. This was probably to ensure, everyone would say yes and total submission without questions so that his authority would never be questioned. GLCs and ministries were invaded by influx from Army executives, even sports was not spared.
Singapore’s values are based on 5 stars, which I believe most have forgotten what they are and maybe those new citizens would not even care. Five stars represent democracy, peace, progress, justice and equality. I believe today, we probably would say peace is all we have, the rest of the values are degenerating. Our country model has evolved to only one ultimate value, everything just equate back to $ and cents. Today’s education only breeds elitism and materialism, they call it “grades”. Morale education was removed, a brainwashing National Education which focuses on political inclination was included. These days, everything is on $ and cents, you can’t pay, you go to court or jail, rid of compassion. Most Singaporeans have been brainwashed by the system to be elitist and material, which finally saw the Kampung Spirit being eliminated from society. Every man is for himself, the building of a self centred and selfish society based on $ and cents.
We also seem to have different treatment for elites, foreigners and locals. As seen in recent years, the happenings are getting so obvious, do you agree? There is no more integrity, recent changes to constitution at will and the relentless pursuits to crush oppositions with ever changing changes to this act or that act. This was never the case during the old man’s era where integrity was intact.
Over the last 20 years, we imported third world foreigners and rebrand them as talents. What has resulted? High cost of living, huge inequality gap, high local unemployment and polarisation of the society. According to Spiegel online, Singapore has become an increasingly popular haven for money … world, who use the discreet financial center as a hub and storage site for their riches. … to laws and regulations against money laundering and tax evasion. In order to achieve $ and cent, the country has succumbed to easy ways of GDP growth.
Back to FengShui, do you remember the Merlion was hit by lightning and cracked? Do you remember that they changed the direction of the Flyer’s spin because it was spinning wealth out of Singapore instead of sucking in wealth?! And then Flyer went bankrupted? Do you remember we had our first Serangoon riot? Do you remember the suicides at Bedok Reservoir that the minister had to summon all the religion parties to go down? Flooding is no longer once in 50 years, its happening every now and then, you ever notice? We are going to dig all the graves to make way for 10M population. Will those spirits who were rested be appeased when their homes are taken away? 70% may have voted for the incumbent, but do you think they are happy? It was a decision based on $ and cents, not from the heart. Polarisation of society and high resentment of locals are growing exponential. People are unhappy and stressed, a slightest provocation will erupt into fight. Singapore is no longer the same, things are happening, just that its so gradual that people are not taking notice.
A country with no values, except $ and cents. A country of yes men and most feedbacks flushed down the toilet. A polarised country full of unhappy, stressed people and self centred people. A country which uses unorthodox way to achieve $ and cents. A society that is basing on $ and cents will never succeed, would you agree? You tell me, will good Fengshui embrace this country? Since it is hard for old dog to learn new trick and they are too proud and arrogant to accept feedbacks, I predict Singapore will go into decline for next few decades.
Do you agree with me or what do you think?
