How a PRC couple gamed the Singapore immigration system

A Hardwarezone forum user with the moniker “xplayer” has shared that his China-born colleague had supposedly told him how they are (PRC) gaming the Singapore immigration system to milk the most benefits.

According to his colleague, only one of the couple needs to convert to a Singapore citizen while the other can just apply to be a Singapore Permanent Resident. This way, they get to enjoy the full benefits of the Singapore system yet allowing their children to avoid National Service.

Should the situation turns sour in Singapore, the couple can still pack up and return to China since one of them is still a PRC citizen with the new Singapore citizen allowed to remain in China with a Q-class Visa.

PRC collick couple say 1 become citizen , the other only PR , lidat can game the singapore system!

Can get all the benefits of singapore citizenship liao. no need to convert both to citizen. if anything just pack up and go home since one of them still is china citizen.

Even son can choose remain in china citizen, no need serve NS.. song bo singkie?

Apparently, this gaming of the system is not new and Malaysian workers have been doing this for many years.

Interesting questions is: Why are the respective agencies not doing anything about it or are they choosing to ‘close one eye’ since it would go against the ruling party’s ‘open leg door’ policy?

How then can foreigners be blamed for gaming the system if the respective agencies are not taking any action to plug this loophole?

After all, if you are a foreign talent in a foreign land, wouldn’t you game the system and milk it?

This is no secret. If you’ve FT friends or colleagues, they’ll honestly tell you de. Nothing to hide because many of them are doing it. Msians, Indians, Pinoys, PRCs, who is stupid not to do it? So many ley! How could our gah men not know?

If gahmen says both husband and wife must become citizens then can get the benefits of sgpreans, then surely no one want to convert. No convert = no pap vote. Better to have one vote or no votes at all?

Usually, husband will only be pr and his wife become singaporean. When they have kid, if a girl will be registered as singaporean. If a boy, husband will bring back boy to their mother land to registered as citizens. The process will cycling again and again. Can’t blame them lah, they’re really talent which better than the 70%.

In times of a war in Spore, all routes ( be it Land, Sea & Air) will all be closed & nobody r allows to leave this place except only the emperor & his family & those super rich people who can have personal air jet ( but then it will be shot down by Spore’s Gurkha or GI Joe)…

By law, if son gets PR he must serve NS UNLESS he renounce PR-status before 13 yrs old. So a lot of highly-paid foreigners will renounce their sons’ PR-status immediately after PSLE exam. From Sec 1 onwards, the sons will be pure foreigners and pay foreigner fees for school (a few hundreds per month) as well as foreigner fees for hospitals / polyclinics. I used to have foreigner colleagues & managers who do this.

Singaporeans can also do this — renounce citizenship before 13 yrs old & no need to do NS. But for almost all Singaporeans this is not practical. I only know 1 case — former Primary school classmate whose whole family migrated to Oz when we were in Pri 6.

For those lesser-paid foreigners, they will usually not renounce the sons’ PR-status and continue to enjoy $10/mth school fees & lower polyclinic fees. But when son hits 16 yrs old, MINDEF will send letter for son to register at CMPB. As long as son still in school, he don’t need to start NS. Foreigners will play the system by continuing son’s education either in JC or Polytechnic — most will choose poly becoz will get Diploma. After JC or Poly, then the foreigners will run road with their son. These PR-status sons are considered as AWOL by Singapore & will be detained at Immigration if they step back into S’pore (which of course they won’t).

That’s why you see some foreigners will sell their HDB when their son in JC2 or 3rd year in Poly. This shows that they are preparing to run road.

This way, they get to enjoy the full benefits of the Singapore system yet allowing their children to avoid National Service.

How convenient and encouraging that stars like Jet Li and Gong Li can take up citizenship and residence and also go back when the situation comes!
Yet, the ICA continuosly write to it’s citizen warning them that they are suspected of having citizenship of another country and must now decide which to take up!

  • why bother:

PAP imports millions of PRCs and foreigners, they are doing this, they dont care if there is gap. If one leaves Singapore, 10 more will come. Anyway, a lot of first gen and second gen are exempted from NS on the sly, so nothing much you can do.

Remember this, you guys voted for this, they now can do whatever they want. Complain complain for F?

The PRCs must have learnt this from our Malaysian cousins. How to exploit loopholes in the system.

No wonder the Bumiputeras hate them.

These manipulative FTs want the benefits but not the responsibility of becoming a PR or citizen of another country. Imagine if they were in charge of national security.

Thanks PAP for putting your party’s interest before the nation’s. Anything to stay in power, short of selling your wives and daughters.

If their children strike the iron make it to scholars or marry our rich then they stay put lah otherwise they will sweep their buttock and migrate to big countries after all they usually don’t have obligations to family ties here.

Singaporeans, enjoying your 1st world status and all the nice buildings and magnificient airport?
What did you sacrifice for all these growth? Your citizenship benefits? Your freedom of words and assembly? Your soul?
You afraid? That the economy will collapse? That your house will depreciate? Terrorist will attack? There will be racial riots?
There is only one particular person or entity who can save you? And will deliver all your dreams and successes?
He who plastered his face all over the island and all over our MSM, what if you betted on him and he turns out to be the wrong person?
Look at history, those country that are ruled by a single person or party are most likely to suffered in the end. And many times the end of those rule ends with the people suffering. Nay not just history, there are examples of such even today.

This is not true. There is nothing in the law that says that it is compulsory for the government to withdraw your citizenship if you take up a 2nd one. But the law certainly allows the Government to do that.

Singaporeans cannot renounce their citizenship unless they submit proof of their new citizenship to Singapore government. Even if the citizenship is renounced, the child must still complete National service because the Singapore government says the child has had benefit of Singapore citizenship through either public schools or passport issued.
