PR statues should be earned, not cheapened

The recent discussion about making the criteria for Permanent Resident status in Singapore more stringent is a hot issue right now. Already, we have a lot of these foreigners, who locals claim are taking away jobs from them.

Well, that might not be all true, but the sheer amount of foreign born residents currently seen in Singapore does nothing to alleviate the fear of locals about jobs going to these foreigners. Competition is all good and fair, and locals and foreigners alike should be getting jobs based on their ability and not because one group is cheaper to higher than the other. But at the same time, locals need to know that we are an important component of the Singapore workforce. One way to remove the fear of foreigners taking our jobs is to actually make the criteria for PR more stringent. We should not give out PR that easily, and cheaply. As we know, once you get a PR, you also have an easier time getting jobs here, thus, putting more pressure on the locals in their hunt for jobs.

So, the government should not cheapen the Singapore PR status. Make it hard to earn one, and when one does get a PR here, he would have really worked hard to earn it. Not by some cheap payment of PR fees, and these people are expected to really contribute to Singapore’s economy. Only then are PR on a same level field as locals, and thus accusations of jobs taken from locals might be lessened.

now that thee are about 2 millions or so NON-SGS including PRs in TINY sg,it is imperative that the PAP considers the COMPOSITION OF ‘CITIZENS’ TO NON-CITIZENS in order to prevent SOCIO-ECONOMIC RISKS from gathering momentum in the near future.

PR- stands for permanent ‘residents’ who STILL DO NOT WANT TO BE CITIZEN,for whatever reasons, especially ‘LOONG-TIME’ PRs.

in other words, they pose a HUGE POTENTIAL RISKS to us and thus PR can stand for Permanent RISKS???

  • Amos humiliate L*L and PAP:

After L*L took over he opened the floodgates to foreigners to increase consumption (and therefore GDP) even if it meant depress local wages. To entice foreigners to come to Singapore he gave them the jobs of Singaporeans by exempting them from CPF. This made them cheaper to employer than Singaporeans. Employers responded by promptly retrenching “more expensive” Singaporeans” and replacing them with “cheaper” foreigners.

More than 2 decades ago, when lky was in charge, getting a spore PR was more difficult than striking 4D horse shit. My ex Msian co-workers tried applying every year but were never successful. They kept trying to go for courses to upgrade themselves. When 1finally got it, the rest were full of envy.

Fast forward to today, son LeH Loong has no idea how to maintain the high GDP. So he leh loong gives out PR papers cheaply. SPR is no more valuable. Foreigners take it for granted and act yaya. With almost all benefits same as spore citizens, they sing high praises for the G. But when our hsia lan G invited them to change to pink IC, they say no. Some of my colleagues now, even those from Myanmar boast how they’re going to give their SPR up to withdraw all their cpf to balik kampung and enjoy life when they’ve earned enough here. This is how cheap our PR has become.

We don’t have enough talented locals. That’s why you see SIA hiring a lot of FT crew for example. This is the only way we can stay ahead of our neighbours. We steal their best talents. Even GKS was a Malaysian originally. PAP is smart but whether this will work for another 50 years is another story.

  • Alleviate standard:

Many years ago, someone has had highlighted about the pride of PRs quality administered with stringent assessment for new applicants . Sad to say it has never touched the authority’s forebrain or trigger their neuron cells to manifest it into reality. Over the years it becomes apparent that it is more economical upswing and rewarding to dwell on the vital exponential numbers of successful applicants of PR then merely attracting the scanty few of top notch quality talents which could jump start the sedate economic growth with high productivity gain. So today, pathetically we are seeing huge numbers of successful  PRs but resonating in a staggering productivity level with minimal skills level ascended. There is much truth that there is not enough of local talents in the current workforce but attracting low level standard PRs will not levitates the matter. In fact the magnitude of the lingering after maths effects is so huge that the crux of the issue has not eased as lower standard PRs whom gained full citizenships will evolve into a vicious cycle. Elsewhere many countries selectively  screened through their  wannabes PRs applicants with stringent criteria of language proficiency and high level skills sets against a backdrop of the right job match.

Remember PRs are categorized as local, so they will beef up PR numbers to make local unemployment look small. Currently we are approaching 1M in PRs.

PAP won’t tighten PRs, why and how you see it?

    1. They allow one foreigner to convert while the other remain as FT or PR.
    2. PR application is simple and cheap! $100! Which country this cheap?
    3. Foreign visa application only $30 all these years, now passport already raised till $70.

PAP wants these FTs to convert, give them conveniences and low cost.

To win elections and to boost GDP.

You want them to tighten? Dream on!

  • Remember PAP MP & PRC con:

If a PRC con can be strongly supported by a PAP MP, cheapening is not the right word!
If the oath sworn on faith can be betrayed and citizens can be treated as daft, what is the worth of PR in their minds.
Scumbags, brutes, con fakers and shits are talents but Singaporeans are talents only if they are willing to plp while the real ones have to pack up and leave. PAPists must be thinking the recieving nations must be stupid to allow talentless Sinkies into their countries.

$3 chaitowkwei sold by foodcourt is not worth the monies as compared with the $10 xo variety so said by the multimillions dollar minister on his facebook!
$8 for reparing a rotten heart including hospital first class ward so said one pap minister but same as what citizen paid and accused citizens, who extrapolated the amt paid by the recent critically illed minister based on the info provided by the pap minister, of spreading untrue info.
Citizens have been now wondering has the first Minister lied about $8 but why should he lied! If he really lied, shouldn’t he be removed from his office. As he was not removed from his ministerial post, he has therefore been truthful about the $8 he haaid for his medical treatment. Now whi is then not telling the truth?
