Will Hijab Wearing Will Increase Islamic Fundamentalism In Singapore?

Will Hijab wearing President will increase in muslim fundamentilism in Singapore?

Most of us look up to leaders as role model. We are going to have a first woman hijab wearing President. Hijab is a sign of being a pious Muslim. Monkey see monkey ape. As being a role model chances are high, more Muslim women will start wearing hijab. What will this translate into?

Increased fundamentalism?

Turkey in the early days banned hijabs as they were facing muslim fundanmentalism that threaten the stability and security of the country. Will we see more Muslim fundalmentalists by having a hijab wearing president? Now that Turkey is under an Islamic party, we are seeing an increase in the rise of Islamic fundamentilism in Turkey.

Abdul Kalam the late and former president of India a complete opposites of Hijab wearing halimah Yaacob, no doubt Kalam being a muslim, he was a vegan and strong studies of Hindus scriptures in fact he wrote a book on hinduism with a swami as being his teacher. In a nutshell even Abdul Kalam a Muslim President , Hindus loved him, he was the People President, he put aside the Muslim religious attires but wears Hindus clothing , thus he unify India, where caste and religious infighting is an everyday event.

On that note, will hijab wearing president divide Singaporeans? Will this be the downfall of PAP? As 80% of Singaporeans are not Muslim. But the final note , a nail to the coffin, will it open a pandora box of increased Muslim fundamentalism in Singapore?

I am not against a muslim president but why can’t we have a Abdul kalam type of President who is more open minded and having a sense of unifying a country. I see nothing in Halimah Yacob.

Aziz Kassim

Rubbish! I have never seen and will not see a President wearing hijab an issue.

The only thing that puzzles me why my Muslim countrymen and countrywomen these days seem cold and distant, as though I am a foreigner. Anybody?

  • Perspective:

There was a time when Malay girls and women did not wear the tudung, except those attending religious classes. Today, it has become fashionable to wear the tudung. So what is its significance? Is it a symbol of “Malay-ness” or a symbol of Islamic fundamentalism? Anyone?

  • Great Asia:

The Great Asia has always been asking: a P6 student versus Jesus Christ, which one of them is more knowledgeable?

Using a piece of cloth to cover your hair is not going to make you a better person or a better Muslim.

PAP needs a person who is not sophisticated and can’t think deep and see far, so this lady is the best candidate.

If they want a thinker, then Tan Cheng Bock is the choice.

But the problem is that a 呆 is the PM, so we can’t elect a thinker to be the president.

    Ha ha ha!

Jewish married women are not permitted to shake hands with a man; is this true also of Muslim married women? If so, how is she going to shake hand with President XJP? Is she going to avoid a courtesy embrace from Donald Trump during a state visit? LOL!

I am not against a muslim president but…. I see nothing in Halimah Yacob.

ex PM of malay land Tun Dr mahatir has said, keeping face hair does not a religious man make. we say wearing religion on ones head does not a religious woman make either. face hair or wearing religion on head looks after all very fake, as if something with their maker needs human approval. fake. real fake.

not one pap folk today truly work for stupid 70% who voted them into positions of service. rather, the stupid 70% has voted into place folks who lord over them, lie to them, and all things bad. so not at all surprise to see comments, I see nothing in harimau being made.

an india muslim is malay. so stupid. since when is a race determined by religion? race has always been determined by papa. of course pap distracts by using skillfully crafted words, pure malay. who has questioned about pure malay? everyone has questioned an india muslim being malay. there two are completely different things. the words used spell differently.

  • Curious facts:

Perspecftive: is this true also of Muslim married women?

All Muslims, male or female, can only shake hands with the right hand. Why, because the left hand is to wipe backside after shitting. Now you know why Muslim boy/girl friends never hold hands. Hmm, what about husband/wives?

Can shave totally bald like egg then no need hijab liao. Solve problem.

BTW hijab & tudung are not traditional Malay clothing — they are Middle-Eastern. Before 1950s, Malays in M’sia, S’pore and Indonesia very seldom wear them.

It’s only from 1960s onwards when more fundamentalist imams from Egypt & Saudi Arabia came into M’sia & S’pore & Indo then the Malays here started adopting it.

She wants to be like Chiak Lou Bee TT! Hahahaha! This proves once and for all what we’ll be getting from the Loong ……..another paper Prez and lame duck head of state. Life goes on while they continue to fatten themselves up at the expense of the populace! How I wish she had said that she wants to be like Ong Teng Cheong or even Tan Cheng Bock! In my dreams only!
My prediction is that she will deft win but by the slimmest of margins from the other candidates + spoilt voters!
Likely also she will win by default…..walkover as all other candidates disq! For one reason or another!
S’pore now from 3rd world to 1st world to a big fat joke of a country and going downhill henceforth!

  • Sillyporeans:

Religion is about blind loyalty. It will never address nor resolve the problems of the world. In fact, religion entrenches dictatorship. Why do you suppose Sin embraces a multireligious society? Multireligious society works because there is a greater fear keeping their irrationality in them contained. Religious people made good hypocrites. These flocks are easily manipulated like CHC sheep because they live within the confinement of an unrealistic hope. Look at Rome of old. Christianity was the co–driver if not the driver of legal corruption before karma ended their civilisation.

Lead us not into temptation and deliver us from evil, message to world leaders, is not a religion.

The Politicians are living in temptation and are blind to the evil they perpetuate and have been freely sowing the seed in f evil isn’t it? Can they lead the world into peace?

Seriously, you mean if you follow LKY’s “hard truths” like you would the bible our world will be a better place?

I don’t think even his sons would swallow that. The one who replaces the strongman is there for the ride, stupid academics, and will be crushed by another stronger than him, with more money.

  • full body burqa:

how many have seen in SG women wearing full body black colour burqa? had been seeing quite a few already.

at first i thought they are some arabic ladies who are here to visit our hospitals as medical tourists. but my observation is most of these arab ladies were wearing the flowing black burqa minus the face-covering-veil inside some sg hospitals.

those i seen in hdb heartlands, they were wearing the full body black burqa – whole body, the hair and face all concealed except their eyes and some with their visual-aid-black spectacles.

close scrutiny and one can tell from the shape of their eyes that they are not some visiting arab ladies. they are sgeans.

will the full body burqa trend catch on with sgeans in SG?
