More concerned with arriving safely

Singaporeans – myself included – used to get all worked up into a frenzy whenever the MRT broke down. Late for work! Late for exams! Uber surge prices! Surge of people spilling out of stations!

After the train collision at Joo Koon station which injured at least 28 people, our concerns have escalated to a whole new level. Few talked about how students taking their A level Economics paper at 8am today were affected. Instead, the main concern now is not whether we can get to work ON TIME, but whether we can get there SAFELY.

Before, most straphangers felt safe standing throughout their journey without hanging on to the straps. Today, I reminded my kids and mum-in-law to always hold on to the “grab poles or hand grips”, because a collision can occur at any moment without warning, like the incident at Joo Koon’s.

How sad! Surely Singaporeans expect better?

Better? The MRT has already shown us all we should expect worse not better.

With all the recent happenings it’s a matter of time before something major happens. Don’t be surprised if a train derails while on an elevated track and comes crashing down leading to fatalities.

f course the newspaper would say it’s a minor issue, not many were killed and it’s the first time a fatality has occurred. They love to downplay bad events but love playing up on how WP mamage Aljunied.

I can see how the ST report will be written: “An SMRT train coasted off the tracks and made contact with the ground. Most passengers climbed out of the train shaken but unscathed. A few suffered minor to moderate injuries and there was maybe one or two who met their demise as they were not able to brace themselves from the fall. SMRT says it will investigate the cause of the unfortunate incident. Trains between Station A and Station Z will be closed in the meantime to facilitate the investigation. In the meantime, passengers ST spoke to were understanding of the situation. They agree trains should stop running so that a full and proper investigation could take place.”

  • Amos exposed PAP hypocrisy:

Singaporeans need to throw out the PAP not only to “arrive safely” but to also live better, longer and have a better future for their family. CLEAR THE SWAMP – VTO – the only way.

  • pap selected INDIAN president:

so true. today it is all about arriving at destination in one piece. train not breaking down is a bonus.

so how ffffing upset we were when clown excused malaysian S$8 cow and his kakis. these pap Ljs and pap Cbs all don’t take train for anything and so they can only mouth senseless words.

even malaysian S$8 cow himself and his mrt kaki dismal quack don’t take train daily and so to expect them to do the right thing is to expect an INDIAN pig to climb a malay tree.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
how they justify to each other their S$m wage.

once they justify each other they okay okay no need to account for anything since they now control parleement and whatever they say is correct even can say inside is NOT within 200m and even can say an INDIAN is a malay.

There aren’t enough poles to go around. Then what do you do? Grab on to anything your hands can find! LOL! If it should be a major collision the poles will not be of much good. Just hope that it does not happen.

I PROPOSE AN ‘SAFE LADEN WEIGHT FOR ALL MRT TRAINS’ as in elevators?

once this safe level is reached,NO MORE PASSENGERS should be allowed in the trains.

the trais are over-worked and poor;y serviced and with ever increasing number of aliens here, the trains will ,of course, break down?

even the tracks will wear off FASTERER than they are being repaired???…FRICTIONS,man?! no need SYSTEMS ENGINEERS from DSTA???

SAME FOR SOCIAL INCOHESION….OVER-CROWDING LEADS TO MORE ‘FRICTION’,figuratively n literally?????

lee ah long, you are president scholar n general, you should leran how to think better for the good of the people?

  • God warns:

It is mandatory that every public officers in the top management have to sworn on their faith oath of office bef ore assuming the position. Apparently the significance of SWEARING the oath on their HOLY BOOK seems forgotten or may be totally ignorant why tohey should take the oath on their HOLY BOOK and not just swear simply in front of a earthling. Perhaps many of them do not know what the HOLY BOOK signifies possibly they only attend their faith functions only three times in their life times, as the Christian cilche goes.
Perhaps it should be declared how diligent and truthfully they have honor their faith by their daily lives, probably a bit tough to get such evidence

As such the trust is to assume that they are God fearing and would lie and betray their faith or their Goh thru their faith. Thevrest is left to Karma. Perhaps it is universal to hear various populace cry aloud when faved with what they think that God has forsaken them not to serve the karma God has no eyes or Heaven has no eyes amidst political oppression in the extreme.

The MRT saga has gone on far too long. Khaw take his millions for his NFI of work and duties has gone on for too long while evil of meglect with a nepotic plp environment. Anger and frustration of the people may be nothing by the noises of the environment (Roti prata rotted) but karma seems to be real. The lightning strike is a devine sign to all faith pracyitioners of betrayal of his faith
So heed it all those who swore to serve in their capacity. The exorbitant demand of millions aggravates their onus to honor what they have sworn or surrender their office if they do not have the ability
Their millions are ill gotten and should be returned to the populace they have taken from thru charity and public confession before their God. Else karma is nigh.

You voted from them, mean you voted for their manifesto.

    1) More foreigners – create good jobs or stealing your lunch
    2) More increase and higher GST – your Pay and Pay
    3) More paper General to be seconded from the Amry to take up key position
    4) More bonuses for them

    Blame who?

Continue to say “what can the opposition do”, “opposition no good candidates”

  • Harder Truths:

As there is nothing we can do, I suggest all to get insurance immediately for MRT accidents and in case you are injured, crippled, bedridden or dead. Also make sure this insurance includes electrocution. You never know right?

The pappys view insurance as an ‘income opportunity’ for their many insurance companies. Even a tragedy can be a profit making event for them.
