Three cheers for The Online Citizen

The latest SMRT problem and LTA’s announcement that

the two rail operators are required to inform passengers of any delay exceeding 10 minutes, via regular announcements within stations and on board trains. If the delay worsens, updated information should be announced via mainstream and social media.

reminded me that Terry’s Online Channel has been tracking and documenting delays in train service, announced and, more importantly, unannounced, by SMRT.

This is important because memories are short especially for sheep and BS artists.

Here in Wah train service so reliable meh between 2012 and 2016? I reported that I challenged a TRE reader to tell me about his experiences of SMRT delays between 2012 and April 2016. As expected, no picture, no sound.

I also asked via FB a few other very vocal complainers, but they admitted they couldn’t remember or they were not regular MRT commuters.

Which is why it is important that there is a record of the delays that is publicly accessible. But if TOC closes, then no records exist. And after a trouble-free 2019, come the next GE, the sheep will think that the trains have always run on time.

There is also a Shit-Stirrer and Shit eaters in TOC just like everywhere in the social media. CI should bring his shit-eater No 1 and 2 over to TOC and see how well he and his cynical thoughts are received there. Yea, in fact, all readers should get out their comfort zone once in a while and try out other social websites to see how they measured out against other cybernauts -

CI Why dont you as part of social service site set a site and record all these MRT delays so it will be useful to bring down the PAP in 2020.

Anyone can track the train delays all they want. It is all transparent, nothing to hide. It is true that collisions are a major issue but SMRT has only 1 thus far with minimal injuries. There was no derailment or loss of lives.

Train delays, on the other hand, are a common occurrence in everyday life in every country. Singaporeans may complain about it but ultimately it will not affect their voting decisions in GE because train delays are trivial compared to everything else we have here (such as world class education system, excellent infrastructure, universal healthcare coverage, high quality public housing, fully-funded pension system etc). Singaporeans know they can’t have perfection in everything and train delays are only a minor blemish in our govt’s overall excellent record.

    As usual….a “useless” article !

    Waste of readers time !

    Waste of print space !

Wonder what do TRE Editor “saw fit that this article should be published” ?

I didn’t see any “relevance”…nor…”usefulness” in having this article being here .

What has TRE became of lately ????

    ( Balls being squeezed ) ??????

    ( Lost your balls ) ????

    ( Infiltrated ) ?????

Better do some “internal soul searching and debugging”

I pity and feel sad for Richard Wan’s “Inital Pet Project” !

we did not read the article. we looked at the title, looked at the source, then we penned this piece.

it seems to us this pap IB ci has been posting too many articles in TRE lately. WHY?

problem is, we don’t read any although we do take a look at the comments. articles not read take up space, and can be distracting to the uninitiated. we have always agreed with the view that pap does not sit still. in current declining environment, pap knows it needs to do all it can to secure the next 5 years. since 2021, latest, is not far away, we can only expect more of pap propaganda. TRICK is, we must be smarter. just ignore.

in every society, there are running dogs. when we were under japanese, they even became translators and such. these folks no soul. and what we discover is, for bread, they even lie as if everyone is a fool.

if pap IBs have written about why a pig can be a goat or why inside is NOT within 200m, maybe, just maybe, we may entertain by taking a look. no otherwise since it is a waste of time.
